When you are dealing with the weather – it can be really, really difficult for you to actually determine what makeup is going to be great and match with the weather. One of the first things that you should do before you ever leave your home is check the weather online – that way, you know how you should use your makeup and what products to use.

Firstly, if it is going to rain, you always want to make sure that you are going to stay away from liquid foundation. The reason for that is because liquid foundation actually can ‘melt’ off of your face and does not last as long as non-liquid foundation.

We are going to go into some more tips in the next blog peeps, make sure that you stay tuned!

The greatest thing I think about a matte face is actually how beautiful it truly does look and how beautiful you can make yourself. You can actually really bring out your eyes and your cheeks when you wear your skin matte and that is the whole point right?

If you have been waiting for me to announce one trend for the winter – matte is definitely it ladies!

The primary benefit here is that cream foundations give you a lot of coverage and a milky, dewy, soft looking skin tone.

Professionals typically rely on stick foundations. They are easy to use and they offer a high amount of coverage. However, sticks are usually better for use on problem areas. They can be used on your entire face, but doing so may be a bit time consuming.

No matter what, though, you need to combined your foundation with a good moisturizer in whatever way you can. If, for example, you get more dry skin in certain areas, put on moisturizer before you apply your foundation. If you go this route, make sure the moisturizer you choose is not too heavy or oily, otherwise it will mix badly with the moisturizing ingredients already in your foundation.

Rather than actually solve this problem so I would never have to deal with it anymore, I decided on a short term solution and disguised it by getting side swept bangs cut. Now, for those of you who do not want to go this route, I finally decided to get the lowdown on how to stop that scaly look from occurring at all.

Typically, liquid foundation is considered good for dry skin, if you are only looking for medium coverage. However, look for one with a moisturizer.

Moisturizer is the key here — but there are some tricks of the trade which, while they will not decrease the need for moisturizer, will streamline the application process.

When I first started putting on foundation, I swear it took me years and years to find out exactly what kind I like! Heck, I am still trying out new ones, but I always go back to my old Dream Matte Mousse and that works for me. Do you know what works for you though? Do you know what foundation will bring out the bright features in your face and will honestly help make your complexion look flawless? Well, we’ve got the scoop for you on foundations and we are going to spill it all in this three part blog!

Firstly, you need to pick your color. Now, obviously, you want to find something that will match your skin tone. We’ve all been through those years that our jaw lines never matched out neck and that is completely and utterly out of style, so you need to be sure that you are buying the right color! While you are in the store, you will notice quite a few different choices most likely and you want to be sure that you hold your hand under the displays in order to find the one that matches you.

As soon as you find the color, that is half the battle! Stay tuned for more foundation tricks and how to find the right one for you!

While this may not be a classic look, it is rather a makeup trick that is classic. Applying powder over your foundation is something that has been around forever and in this day and age, it is a very important step to accomplish some of the very classic looks that I’ve listed below.

For instance, just a quick brush on of powder all over your face before you put on the rest of your makeup will buff away all of those tiny imperfections that you are constantly trying to hide. Also, with all of the new technology coming out for makeup, applying powder onto your face after your foundation can actually help improve your skin.

Now, maybe you are one of the many people that have switched from regular foundation to Bare Minerals or something similar, that they are just strictly powder-based. That is perfect! You are not only buffing away the shine, but you are also keeping your skin fresh and young looking and that is a look that never goes out of style. Keep it up ladies!

I can’t imagine how I survived before I finally discovered the ingenious thing called a primer. This wonderful product is meant to be applied on a bare face to prep it for makeup application. It smooths out fine lines and fills pores, to create the illusion of flawless skin. When you use a primer, your makeup applies evenly, and stays on longer.

My absolute favorite product, my holygrail of all primers, is Smashbox Photo Finish. It comes different formulations to suit a variety on ski-types. I use the Light formula which is for oily skin. But there’s also a green-tinted formula for evening out reddish skin (like those who have Rosacea,) and the newest formula which has SPF 15 and Dermaxyl Complex (an anti-aging ingredient.) Photo Finish has a gel-consistency that glides onto my face like silk, and leaves my skin with a natural matte finish. I also like that it’s oil-free and contains grapeseed extract that soothes the skin, so it’s not just makeup, but a skin treat. Ideally, people follow primer with an application of foundation, but in my case, I find that I’m good to go even sans makeup.

Prices are between $36-45. Not a bad deal for perfect skin.

If not, then the focus with this is on a natural looking make-up that does not contain chemicals or fragrances. It’s good for sensitive skin. The best thing is that you just brush it on, even the foundation, and it gives you a wonderful coverage. Coverage is most important to me, but the added benefit of knowing that it contains nothing artificial is great too. You can get the starter set for around $30, which includes everything that you need such as foundation, blush, concealer, mascara, and brushes, along with cleansers and other great items. This would make a great gift for someone, providing you don’t decide to keep it yourself

We got this comment from Sierra: I am new to mineral make-up and do not like to spend the big bucks on make-up, but i want the best ingredients for my skin. Pure Bliss Minerals has both and i am in love with these eyeshadow colors-found it online/ebay eyecandy-cosmetics My sensetive skin was very happy, no itchy eyes! yeah!
