One of the biggest questions that is on my mind this winter is whether or not I should be wearing my skin shining or should I be wearing it matte? Well, this season matte is actually very in right now and it is all that is really showing on the runway this season – also for the fall, which is something that I did not really expect.
The greatest thing I think about a matte face is actually how beautiful it truly does look and how beautiful you can make yourself. You can actually really bring out your eyes and your cheeks when you wear your skin matte and that is the whole point right?
If you have been waiting for me to announce one trend for the winter – matte is definitely it ladies!
As we have no doubt pointed out many times, purple is one of the signature colors for the season. You can easily incorporate it into your makeup as well, you just have to be extremely careful to get the colors right.
Purple does not have to be gaudy; it is not all about royal purple or aubergine or plum. You can stop thinking about bright purple grape juice!
There are soft, soft lavenders, beautiful lilacs, and even dark, smoldering burgundies.
Mixing shades does not have to scare you either. In fact, you can balance out your look by doing this.
You simply have to avoid going overboard. Purple in most shades can be an intense color, and while it has the power to be absolutely stunning, you have to begin with a light touch until you get more confident.
So, we have discussed some popular makeup trends for winter, it is time to pick up some fall looks as well.
One popular look this fall involves a subtler variation of the much loved smoky eye. You can go for a smoldering look that can be worn in the daytime too!
Using a dark but soft eyeliner pencil, line your upper and lower lash line — get as close to your eyelashes as you can.
Then, you can soften the lines by smudging them with either a sponge tip, your pinky finger, or a flat tipped brush.
After that, use a standard fluff brush to put on an eyeshadow in a medium or dark color. Make it go up and a little bit above your crease, and make sure the strokes go back and forth. You can use a creamy shadow to soften the edges.
Pair this look with simple lips for the best results!
Now that we have touched on one of the most important trends in makeup – winter makeup trends. The first is obviously silver eye shadow and the next is going to be eyeliner. Most people in the summer forget about the eyeliner or go really light on it – the winter is the time for you to draw some beautiful lines on your eyes.
Your eyes are going to be the thing that stand out in your makeup and you should definitely take advantage of that. Ensuring that your eyeliner is thick and beautiful is something that most people do not know how to do. Well – that is what I am going to teach you!
First – start with liquid eyeliner and practice … for that is what is going to make it perfect. After you have practiced on some paper, next go ahead and start on the upper lid and follow the natural curve. You will see that it looks awesome as soon as you pull back. Go over it once more and you are done!
When you think about it – what is the very first thing that you think about when we are getting into the winter months? For me, it is all about the makeup and it is all about the silver colors – silver is definitely one of the very few colors that really belongs on your eyes in the winter, for it is definitely a color that looks absolutely amazing.
What most people do not realize when it comes to winter makeup is the fact that you do not always have to go with dark, dark colors – you can still be glitzed out, you just have to do it in a different way. Silver eye shadow for me is something that looks great – whether you get it with some glitter flakes or just plain, it really looks great.
Now – you have to remember when you are dealing with silver that a little can go a long way – so don’t over do it!
Artificial nails are a favorite among a lot of women. However, many of them are giving up this vice, due to a prevailing myth that any artificial enhancements will destroy your real nails.
Worry not though, girls. From what I have been able to find, this is not the case at all. Nail technologies — if you will — have evolved quite a lot over the last few years, and there is no danger that they are going to suffocate your natural nails.
What will harm your nails if you use artificial ones is removing them the wrong way. If you pick at the artificial nail or try to pry or pull it off, then you can damage your natural nail beds.
However, if you remove your artificial nails the right way — and put them on and wear them the right way — then your natural fingernails will be just fine!
We all want white teeth, and according to all the information out there, they are myriad ways we can get white teeth. However, some of those methods can wind up being more damage. Sometimes you have to think — do you want white teeth or healthy teeth? Unfortunately, where this little cosmetic procedure is concerned, sometimes the “natural” ways can be the most damaging.
What do I mean specifically? Well, there is a growing trend wherein people are rubbing lemons on their teeth, or using lemon juice, as a means to whiten them.
The problem here is that you will be trading the problem of white teeth for a bigger issue. This method can actually hurt your teeth. Lemons are, of course, high in citric acid, which can wear away the enamel of your teeth.
A far better natural method would be mixing baking soda with water, and brushing your teeth with this mixture.
Now that the summer and spring are gone, it is finally time for us to break out the jackets and coats and welcome the fall and winter trends to come along. Now, if you are anything like me … you really have no idea what to do with your face when the seasons change. There are so many different colors that you need to pick up and you really need to pay attention to what is hot and what isn’t.
That’s what I’m here for! The latest in the way of fall makeup is right here and the first trend we are going through is brown eye shadow. Browns are definitely in this fall and as you can see, they look absolutely beautiful. When you add in brown and even a little gold to your eyes, they will pop and you will be so stylish and fashionable for autumn, it will be crazy!
Personally – I love the hues of browns that are out right now … everything from hot cocoa all the way to light dusty brown are hot and something that you should totally look into!
So I thought about it – and thought about it and thought about it and well … I wanted to go ahead and share some runway looks with you guys from the latest on the runway! The first is from Christian Cota’s runway show for his newest spring line and I have to say that the makeup that was done for that show is by far the most beautiful … ever. So how can you get this look? Well, that is what we are going to explore below.
Firstly, you need to get some Maybelline – the Dream Liquid Mousse Foundation, that will create an even skin tone and just brush it lightly with Mineral Powder Naturally Luminous Blush over your cheekbones. Your eyes are going to be Expert Wear Eye Shadow and along the upper cheek, for sleek shine and for your eyelashes, coat them in XXL extensions. The lip color is Very Cherry and that is what makes this look!
This look is not hard to achieve, you just really need to know exactly what you are doing and you can look exactly like this!
Now, let’s say you are ready to move on to some brighter, bolder new eyeshadow. You do not have to go all out and choose shades in lime, hot pink, or canary yellow. Of course, you can — but one way to keep yourself feeling comfortable is to pair a bright shade with a neutral one.
Balance your bright colors with a bronze, a taupe, something like that — and do not blend them. Smudge two colors together, but resist the urge to blend.
As well, if you decide to go with bold, bright eye makeup, then the rest of your face should be natural. No red lips, no bold streaks of blush — let your eyes pop, let them draw attention.
