So I thought about it – and thought about it and thought about it and well … I wanted to go ahead and share some runway looks with you guys from the latest on the runway! The first is from Christian Cota’s runway show for his newest spring line and I have to say that the makeup that was done for that show is by far the most beautiful … ever. So how can you get this look? Well, that is what we are going to explore below.
Firstly, you need to get some Maybelline – the Dream Liquid Mousse Foundation, that will create an even skin tone and just brush it lightly with Mineral Powder Naturally Luminous Blush over your cheekbones. Your eyes are going to be Expert Wear Eye Shadow and along the upper cheek, for sleek shine and for your eyelashes, coat them in XXL extensions. The lip color is Very Cherry and that is what makes this look!
This look is not hard to achieve, you just really need to know exactly what you are doing and you can look exactly like this!
Now, let’s say you are ready to move on to some brighter, bolder new eyeshadow. You do not have to go all out and choose shades in lime, hot pink, or canary yellow. Of course, you can — but one way to keep yourself feeling comfortable is to pair a bright shade with a neutral one.
Balance your bright colors with a bronze, a taupe, something like that — and do not blend them. Smudge two colors together, but resist the urge to blend.
As well, if you decide to go with bold, bright eye makeup, then the rest of your face should be natural. No red lips, no bold streaks of blush — let your eyes pop, let them draw attention.
This season, bright, bold eye makeup is all the rage — but not a lot of us are ready to take such an ostentatious step, no matter how much we want to try.
Bold makeup can be hard to carry off, after all, especially when it goes on around the eyes — it draws lots of attention to your most prominent features.
But you can take baby steps if you really want to try this trend without going all out with it right away. There are some tricks here to make you more comfortable.
For example, why not start out with just some bright eyeliners? Stay neutral with the shadow, if you like, or do not wear any at all; just stick to bold liners. White or silvery shades are great for this. Keep it a little thin on the top lid and a little thicker on the bottom.
In the last blog we explored just a couple different ways that you can get rid of those dark circles under your eyes, however what we did not talk about was why you get dark circles. Dark circles are actually a sign of stress or a sign that you are very, very sleepy – that is why reviving your skin is a fantastic way to ensure that you knock those dark circles out from under your eyes.
Almond and peanut oil just rubbing it under and around your eyes is truly one of the best practices that you should take whenever you are dealing with dark circles. Also, turmeric powder mixed with pineapple juice turned into a paste is sure to wake your skin right up!
Dark circles can also be blended in with a yellowish-tinted concealer so that way you can counteract the dark with the yellow … trust me, it works!
Dark circles are a problem for every single woman. It happens – kids wake you up or you are stressed out, under pressure … whatever the case might be, dark circles happen, however you should know exactly how to get rid of them – naturally. While cucumbers are something that every single woman knows about, there has to be something more right? I mean cucumbers are great, but who truly has the time to sit there with them on?
Well, there are other ways and in the next few blogs we are going to explore what you need to do to get rid of these pesky circles for good! The first natural way is going to be by using chamomile tea. You can soak these tea bags in cold water for five minutes and them place them on your eyes for ten minutes – just before bed works fantastic!
Another fantastic way is apply some crushed mint leaves under your eyes for twenty minutes, as the mint will truly help fade those circles right down. Most to come in the next blog ladies!
As with anything else, nail polish tends to follow the current trends in colors and textures. For fall this year, that means some serious vibrancy. We will be battling those dreary grey, late fall days with an absolute vengeance. Nail polish is perfect for this, because if you do not want to try wearing clothes in bright orange and hot pink, and if you do not want your makeup to reflect those shades, you can go bold with your nail polish instead.
Essie’s fall collection is right there with you, with a variety of colors (you can buy all of them in a pack for only forty eight dollars on the site!). There are bright, cheery oranges, luscious hot pinks, and with color names like “Chinchilly” and “Mink Muffs,” you really just cannot go wrong!
If you are a fan of Project Runway in general and funky, avant garde winner Christian Siriano — you know, the cute little thing with the haircut — then you will be pleased to know that he has designed a line of makeup for Victoria’s Secret.
The line matches up flawlessly with his Fall 2009 collection of clothing, which itself featured luxurious and soft textures along with rich, strong colors.
Naturally, the makeup line is likewise luxurious, encompassing rich colors which can be worn subtly or dramatically.
He even has kohl, as seen here with the Christian Siriano Kajal Eye Liner. It is creamy and rich in pigments. Siriano found inspiration from the beauty rituals of the ancient Egyptians, and it definitely shows.
Now, as far as foundations go, if you want something diverse, you should go for a cream foundation. The primary benefit here is that cream foundations give you a lot of coverage and a milky, dewy, soft looking skin tone.
Professionals typically rely on stick foundations. They are easy to use and they offer a high amount of coverage. However, sticks are usually better for use on problem areas. They can be used on your entire face, but doing so may be a bit time consuming.
No matter what, though, you need to combined your foundation with a good moisturizer in whatever way you can. If, for example, you get more dry skin in certain areas, put on moisturizer before you apply your foundation. If you go this route, make sure the moisturizer you choose is not too heavy or oily, otherwise it will mix badly with the moisturizing ingredients already in your foundation.
All right, my aesthetically inclined friends. It is confession time. I have dry skin. I have really dry skin, which means that when the problem gets serious, I have some really big problems with foundation. Primarily I have noticed that you can see the dry skin on my forehead, through my foundation — which is just made ten times worse by powder.
Rather than actually solve this problem so I would never have to deal with it anymore, I decided on a short term solution and disguised it by getting side swept bangs cut. Now, for those of you who do not want to go this route, I finally decided to get the lowdown on how to stop that scaly look from occurring at all.
Typically, liquid foundation is considered good for dry skin, if you are only looking for medium coverage. However, look for one with a moisturizer.
Moisturizer is the key here — but there are some tricks of the trade which, while they will not decrease the need for moisturizer, will streamline the application process.
When it comes to eyeliner – I have had so many problems finding a way to not only keep my eyes looking fresh all day but truly having the same look I did in the morning by the end of the day – well, there is hope for your eyeliner! Have you been trying to find one that stays on all day but have only come up with failures? I’ve been there too many times and honestly – I am done with it! Here are some tips and tricks that should help you!
One of the first things that you want to do if you do have oily lids – because I know that I do is use a makeup primer. Usually, your eyelids will not be as greasy once you start using the primer and it really will help you with your eyeliner as well! Next, you want to make sure that you switch up your routine a bit – that means that you should switch up your makeup a bit too.
You want to ensure that your liner is set before you even start using your power, so make sure that you do that before you use powder. The powder is there so truly lock in that color for you!
